Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Debt Recovery Lawyer to join our team on a locum basis. As a Debt Recovery Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing a full caseload of debt recovery cases, including residential and domiciliary care fees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing debt recovery advice and managing a full and varied caseload of debt recovery cases, including high-value debts
  • Completing debt recovery negotiations in complex statutory debt recovery cases
  • Attending regular client review meetings to monitor progress and advising on prospects of success, write-offs, statutory limitation periods, and procedural advice
  • Issuing court proceedings to recover debts, drafting court documents, and undertaking enforcement proceedings against judgment debtors

Requirements:

  • Qualified Lawyer (Solicitors, Barristers, and highly experienced CILEX professionals)
  • Experience of working within a Local Authority with a strong working knowledge of debt recovery matters, including Adult Social Care debts
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
