Job Title: Career Guidance Specialist

This is a part-time fixed-term contract opportunity with Essex County Council, offering 18.5 hours per week Full Time Equivalent. Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.

About the Role:
As a Career Guidance Specialist, you will engage with learners at ACL to support them in achieving their goals and moving into positive destinations. You will provide high-quality, impartial information, advice, and guidance to existing and potential learners, facilitating self-directed learning opportunities and raising learner aspirations. Key responsibilities include providing information resources for learners and stakeholders, establishing innovative ways to support staff access resources, and developing skills to promote learner progression.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality, impartial information, advice, and guidance to existing and potential learners.
• Facilitate self-directed learning opportunities within ACL centres.
• Raise learner aspirations, identifying individual needs, and providing support to participate in learning opportunities, gain employment, or progression in work.
• Develop and maintain high-quality information resources for learners and stakeholders.
• Establish and deliver innovative ways to support ACL staff to access resources that will support learner progression.

Requirements:
• A relevant qualification at Level 2 or equivalent by experience.
• Well-developed organisational skills with experience of working in a team and the ability to organise own workload and work to deadlines.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area, including the adult learning sector.
• Experience of working in a customer-focussed environment with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences.
