Technical Director - Hydrology

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director - Hydrology to join our team at RPS Group. As a key member of our Hydrology Team, you will be responsible for leading the development of drainage strategies and providing technical expertise in water quality, sewage management, and consenting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement drainage strategies from conceptual stage to detailed design stage.
  • Provide leadership in water quality, sewage management, and consenting.
  • Collaborate with Local Planning Authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct site walkovers and other technical duties associated with the role.
  • Support in completing Flood Risk Assessments and ES Chapters.
  • Contribute to bid preparation and fee proposals.
  • Research and business development of potential new clients.
  • Attend client and regulatory meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date with drainage design trends, customer awareness, and design techniques.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff and improve the Drainage team's design and modelling capability.
