About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for rail infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and detail structure and superstructure solutions for rail infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with CAD Technicians to produce drawings and submit quality design documents
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary tenders and maintain understanding of commercial aspects of projects
  • Record and track documents electronically and monitor adherence to quality assurance
  • Produce designers risk assessments and provide weekly reports outlining work plans and key achievements
  • Ensure designs meet specification and expectation, and introduce improvements where appropriate
  • Conduct outline design and detailing of rail civil infrastructure, providing accurate and appropriate imagery
  • Produce details, specifications, and calculations for retaining walls, pad and piled foundations, steelwork, RC concrete slabs, and masonry walls
  • Work on signalling civils enabling, level crossings, power enabling works, OLE foundations, and temporary works
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in design and detail of structure and superstructure solutions in Rail
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated design team and act on instructions from Design Manager
  • Prior experience working in a construction environment is desirable
  • PTS certificate
  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning
  • Either hold professional membership or working towards
  • Proficient in use of spoken and written English language
  • UK citizen or indefinite leave to remain
