The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining Cancer Registry Files for the Facility, coding and abstracting cancer-related data according to established procedures;
- Reporting all new cases to the Massachusetts State Cancer Registry through the computerized registry system;
- Conducting annual lifetime follow-up on patients in the Cancer Registry by reviewing medical records or contacting physicians;
- Assisting with the Hospital's Organization of Cancer Program activities;
- Arranging and coordinating weekly Tumor Boards, compiling reports on cancer incidence for internal agencies;
- Participating in research data collection and preparing statistical reports as requested;
You will also have the opportunity to develop and implement policies and procedures for the Cancer Registry, ensuring compliance with state and national regulations. A strong understanding of METRIQ software is preferred.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Medical Record Technology or Nursing;
- Certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or Oncology Data Specialist (ODS);
- A minimum of five years Cancer Registry experience; and
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year.
