Orthopedic Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have expertise in Hip Preservation Surgery, with a strong focus on Periacetabular Osteotomies, Hip Arthroscopies, and Primary Joint Replacement procedures. The role will involve working closely with Mr Ajay Malviya, Past Chairman of the UK Non-Arthroplasty Hip Registry, to advance research and publish findings in the field of Hip Preservation Surgery.

As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring seamless communication with colleagues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.

• Perform complex hip preservation surgeries, including Periacetabular Osteotomies and Hip Arthroscopies.
• Collaborate with Mr Ajay Malviya on research projects and publications.
• Develop and implement evidence-based guidelines for hip preservation surgery.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.

• Eligible for full GMC registration.
• Hold MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Possess FRCS (T&O) qualifications with one of the Surgical Colleges of Great Britain and Ireland.
• Demonstrate expertise in hip preservation surgery, with a strong interest in advancing the field.
