About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Semi-Senior Accountant to join our team at Accountinext. As a key player in our high-performing team, you will handle a diverse range of tasks that will keep you engaged and continually growing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Produce accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for clients.
  • Client Portfolio Management: Take ownership of a set client base, building strong relationships with driven entrepreneurs and offering strategic financial guidance to help grow their businesses.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Handle tax preparation, submissions, and planning for clients, ensuring compliance with current tax regulations while identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies.
  • Business Development Support: Take an active interest in clients' business goals, providing insights and recommendations to support their growth, profitability, and long-term success.
  • Assisting Senior Staff: Collaborate with senior accountants and partners on more complex financial matters, providing support on special projects, advisory services, and strategic planning.
  • Supervising and Mentoring Junior Staff: Review the work of junior team members, offering feedback, guidance, and mentorship to help them develop their technical skills and understanding.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and tasks as required, contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm's operations and client services.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in an accountancy practice.
  • AAT Qualified or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and UK tax regulations.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic.
