Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Contract Scotland. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and delivering high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and work schedules.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
  • Negotiate and procure materials, subcontractors, and labor.
  • Monitor project progress and report on costs and budgets.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with maintenance contracts.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Handle contract administration, including claims and disputes resolution.
  • Advise on contractual matters and commercial risks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally with a focus on maintenance contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using industry-related software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Valid UK driving license.
