**Role Overview**

The Senior Software Assurance Consultant will play a critical role in supporting software delivery across multiple projects as part of a team that provides independent technical assessment of software for safety-critical aircraft systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on independent technical evaluation of aircraft software, focusing on safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing software safety arguments and ensuring a baseline exists for the software under review
  • Ensuring software is developed to a known standard
  • Evaluating changes down to the source code level, written in SPARK Ada, and reviewing associated Spark Analysis
  • Providing assessments in a suitable format and interfacing with QinetiQ Systems and Safety Subject Matter Experts

This is a full-time position based at one of our sites, with hybrid working available.

**Essential Experience**

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft software development and recognized software development standards
  • Extensive experience in safety-critical software development and safety engineering concepts
  • Experience working as a software technical assessor or extensive experience as a software engineer in a safety-critical environment
  • Strong communication skills

**Qualifications**

The successful candidate will hold a technical degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or equivalent) or relevant technical experience.
