Job Title: Electrical Superintendent - Project Manager

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team in Essex and Manchester, UK. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity with a reputable company that specializes in Engineering design, Procurement and Construction Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Construction Manager in executing and monitoring all E&I works, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing installation and testing of electrical systems, and supervising a team of foremen, chargehands, and crews.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Construction Manager to execute and monitor all E&I works
  • Ensure all aspects of the works are always carried out in the safest manner
  • Manage the installation and testing of Electrical, Instrumentation, Communications, Telecoms and F&G systems
  • Supervise the Electrical (HT/LT/MV/LV) installation and testing works
  • Supervise the Instrumentation certification and installation works
  • Troubleshoot E&I systems and programs
  • Ensure ITP Compliant and document compilation
  • Manage and coordinate with other Building Services teams
  • Ensure full compliance of Safety and Schedule requirements
  • Monitor productivity of labor force against budgeted man-hours
  • Manage Foremen, Chargehands, and crews
  • Ensure materials and installation comply with specifications
  • Conduct constant in-situ field inspections to ensure quality of work delivery
  • Review Method Statements of Works and prepare FLRA's with crews
  • Perform FAT and SAT inspections
  • Perform system line checks, field instrument checks, and certification
  • Perform calibration, functional checks, loop checks, and respective testing
  • Perform system walk-downs, line checks, and punch-listing
  • Troubleshoot and clear all punch items and closure
  • Experience in Pre-com & COM as well as validation of respective systems
  • Closely coordinate with other project teams and trade members
  • Review and interpret drawings and shop drawings
  • Manage subcontractors and monitor progress and reporting
  • Handle Walk-downs, Punch-listing, Clearing, and Closure
  • Interface and Coordinate with Client/QP representatives
Requirements:
  • E&I Trade background
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience post qualification
  • Knowledge of Good Engineering practices
  • Proficient in interpreting construction drawings to review and comment
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, and Heavy Industrial Industries
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work environments
  • Familiarity with FastTrack project environments
  • Physical fitness for construction/Oil & Gas/site environment
  • Independence and proactivity
  • Preparedness for full-time work and field supervision
  • Willingness to work extended hours per site requirements
  • Strong teamwork skills and interpersonal abilities

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £70,000-£90,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, Airswift offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for career growth and development.
