Job Title: Tree Surveyor - Vegetation Management

BTS Group, a leading member of RSK Group Ltd, is seeking an experienced Utility Tree Surveyor to join their team in the Stoke-on-Trent and Telford areas.

This is a hands-on, full-time, permanent position that will involve undertaking surveys of trees in proximity to overhead lines.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong background in arboriculture and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct surveys of trees near overhead lines to identify potential hazards.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure maximum flexibility and adaptability.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of tree characteristics and identification.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Extensive knowledge of tree identification and characteristics.
  • First aid certification.
  • UA: 301, 401 & 402 certification.
  • Excellent map reading skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel, and ability to operate software systems on tablet hardware.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with strict Health and Safety operations and its practical implications.
  • Practical experience in overhead line vegetation clearance works up to and including 132KV.
  • NRSWA certification.
  • Lantra-based Professional Tree Inspection Certificate.
