An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified diagnostic radiographer to join the MRI team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking a B7 Substantive radiographer for a full-time MRI post, where you will have the opportunity to work with the latest AI reconstruction technology on our GE MRI scanners.

In this MRI post, you will perform a diverse range of diagnostic MR procedures, including cardiac imaging for both adults and pediatric patients. You will also be part of the team for interventional MR procedures, including pediatric GA, and focus ultrasound ablation.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Perform MRI procedures according to Trust, Departmental and statutory regulations
  • Provide a high standard of patient care within the specialized area of MRI
  • Communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the service
  • Supervise and line manage band 6 staff and students
  • Deputise for the MRI modality Lead
  • Commit to Directorate and Trust Objectives
  • Carry out a full range of MRI procedures to agreed standards
  • Abide by the Health and Safety Code of the unit
  • Assist the MRI administrative team
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort

Person SpecificationEducation
  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
Desirable
  • Post-Graduate Study
Experience
  • Previous MRI scanning experience
  • Up-to-date knowledge of general imaging techniques
  • Experience of working unsupervised
  • Aware of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
Skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff, and new members of staff
  • Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively
  • Ability to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience, and circumstances
