Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Neurophysiology Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide EEG reporting for inpatients and outpatients, including adult and paediatric cases. They will also perform EMGs for inpatients and outpatients using baseline and complex neurophysiology techniques, covering adult and paediatric cases.

Main Duties

The post holder will be involved in departmental meetings and will provide teaching to neurophysiology registrars and healthcare technicians. They will also be involved in leading audit activity and quality improvement projects, as well as pursuing other areas of personal academic interest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and efficient Clinical Neurophysiology service
  • Share responsibility with all consultant colleagues for providing evidence-based standards of care for all inpatients and outpatients
  • Liaise effectively and on a timely basis with all practitioners who refer patients for investigation and treatment
  • Maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work with the specialties working closely and regularly with Neurosurgery
  • Encourage and foster clinical governance at clinical, managerial and medical levels and to take part in regional audit in support of evidence-based medicine

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Clinical Neurophysiology, with experience in EEG reporting, EMG, and other neurophysiology techniques. They will also have excellent communication and team working skills, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement.
