Fostering Social Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fostering Social Worker to join our team in Carlisle, UK. As a Fostering Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting foster carers and ensuring the well-being of children in their care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and supervise foster carers, providing guidance and advice to ensure successful placements.
  • Conduct regular assessments of foster carers and placements, identifying support needs and areas for development.
  • Work closely with children, foster carers, and professionals to ensure the child's safety, well-being, and development within the placement.
  • Prepare reports for panel meetings and contribute to the matching process of foster children with suitable carers.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including reviews, child protection conferences, and care planning meetings.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in fostering, adoption, or children's services, particularly within a fostering team.
  • Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with foster carers, children, and multi-agency teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload.
