About the Role
Sirona care & health CIC is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a School Health Assistant. As a key member of our School Nursing Service, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of integrated, evidence-based services for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
As a School Health Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP), arranging dates with schools, and completing the measuring of children's height and weight. You will also carry out vision screening, capturing data, and managing any subsequent referrals and follow-up.
Additional Duties
You will participate in the planning, organisation, delivery, and evaluation of health promotion activities, preparing health promotion boards that engage children, young people, and families in health-promoting information. You will also perform general administrative and clerical duties as required, maintaining accurate and contemporaneous record-keeping in line with local and national guidelines and policy.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Qualifications and Credit Framework QCF/NVQ 3 or equivalent in a related subject, such as health and social care or childhood studies. You will also require English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or equivalent, or Functional skills (English and Maths) Level 2. Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development is also essential.
