Job Title: Forensic Vehicle Examiner - Collision Reconstruction Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Vehicle Examiner to join our Collision Reconstruction Unit in our Specialist Operations Branch. As a Forensic Vehicle Examiner, you will be responsible for providing mechanical examinations on vehicles involved in road traffic collisions to establish the vehicles mechanical road worthiness prior to the incident.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert vehicle examination services to support the Force in securing an environment where the public can use roads with confidence, free from death, injury, damage, fear or conflict.
- Photograph vehicles or component parts during an examination.
- Carry out duties including lifting, handling equipment, bending and working in confined spaces.
- Work occasional evenings when required.
- Remain objective and impartial at all times, appraising, checking and evaluating information to reach appropriate conclusions and decisions.
Requirements:
- A minimum industry recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
- Ability to perform mechanical examinations that can be justified in a court of law on any type of vehicle.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings when required.
- Ability to remain objective and impartial at all times.
