About the Role
The University of Essex seeks a talented Academic Lecturer to join its Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies (LiFTS). As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and research in literature, film, and theatre studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach literature at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on American (Caribbean and US) literature and/or comparative and postcolonial literatures.
- Design and lead seminars in introductory first-year undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
- Develop effective learning environments and approaches to student support and guidance.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant doctoral-level degree in Literature or English and substantial experience in teaching literature at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. You should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered practice and a willingness to complement and enhance the Department's education strengths.
