Head of Humanities

Are you a passionate and dynamic Humanities professional seeking a new challenge?

Ribbons and Reeves are working with a high-achieving Secondary School and Sixth Form located in the borough of Barking and Dagenham who are looking for a committed Head of Humanities to lead their collaborative department.

Job Summary:
  • Develop and implement engaging teaching sessions while staying up-to-date with curriculum developments.
  • Build strong relationships with students to foster their interest and participation in education.
  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment that promotes teaching and learning outside the classroom.
  • MPS/UPS Inner London and negotiable TLR.


Key Skills Required:
  • Minimum of a 2:1 undergraduate degree in a Humanities subject from a reputable UK University.
  • QTS gained through PGCE/Teach First/SCITT.
  • Proven background of teaching at least 2 Humanities subjects up to KS5, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level.
  • Knowledge of current education issues in relation to practice, process, and curriculum.
