Job Description:

As a Field Service Engineer in the North East, you will be responsible for keeping our cutting-edge buses on the road. This includes diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues, performing reactive and preventative maintenance, and ensuring all paperwork is completed efficiently.


  • This will involve a combination of scheduled and standardised maintenance activities, as well as addressing unexpected issues that arise during operations.
  • You will need to complete accurate paperwork, including service records, timesheets, and warranty claims, to ensure seamless job closure and invoicing.
  • Given the fast-paced nature of this role, reliable time management and prioritisation skills are essential.
  • It's worth noting that working hours will typically fall between 05:00-20:00, with a 40-hour workweek.


The ideal candidate will have experience in bus or heavy goods vehicle maintenance, preferably with electrical diagnostic skills. A strong understanding of driveline systems, including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, diesel, and diesel hybrid vehicles, is also desired.



Requirements:

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in PSV/HGV maintenance, bodywork, electrics, and mechanics (or equivalent apprenticeship)
• Familiarity with modern vehicle technology, ideally using Multiplex systems
• Time-served PCV/LGV technician with City & Guilds, BTEC, or similar certification
• Excellent organisation, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
