About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cook to join our team at Dovecote Care Home in Milton Keynes. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality meals that cater to the diverse needs of our residents.

As a Cook at Excelcare Holdings, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals using fresh ingredients. You will work closely with our Home Manager to ensure that our menu planning and stock ordering align with our budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents
  • Schedule weekly meal menus and ensure that they are aligned with our budget
  • Work with healthcare professionals to ensure that meal plans and dietary requirements are met
  • Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen
  • Supervise other kitchen team members
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations

Requirements:

  • Experience of cooking in a catering environment
  • NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality
  • 2 years' experience in a kitchen environment
  • 12 months experience in managing a kitchen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
