Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and development of students in a Secondary School setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading Intervention Groups: You will lead small groups of students in English and Mathematics, providing targeted support to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Covering Planned Absences: You will be required to cover planned absences of teachers, ensuring that students continue to receive high-quality education and support.
  • Additional Responsibilities: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will take on additional responsibilities, including:
  • Teaching classes independently
  • Managing other learning support staff
  • Preparing classrooms for lessons and tidying up afterwards
  • Assisting with lesson plans
  • Supporting students across the curriculum
  • Providing extra assistance to students with special needs
  • Recording and reporting student progress to teachers
  • Marking student work
  • Motivating and encouraging students
  • Supervising students during school trips or activities
  • Attending meetings
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You will need to communicate clearly and effectively with teachers and students.
  • Active Listening Skills: You will need to be an active listener, able to understand and respond to the needs of students.
