Store Manager

The Deputy Manager is a key position within Ted's Team, responsible for partnering with the management team to deliver on the location's broad range of KPIs and inspiring the team. In the Location Manager's absence, the Deputy Manager will relish the responsibility and opportunity of managing the store and demonstrating an entrepreneurial flair in running the business.
Main ResponsibilitiesPeople- Work in partnership with the Location Manager and the wider management team to achieve business objectives.
- Lead by example, promoting excellent team participation and nurturing an inspiring work environment every day.
- Take ownership of all recruitment within the store, ensuring dedicated, competent, and driven individuals are sourced and a comprehensive on-boarding induction is delivered.
- Develop and implement training and development programs for the team, utilizing Ted's Talent & Development resources to ensure they are up-to-date and knowledgeable on current business focuses.
- Engage and inspire the team to deliver exceptional customer service at every opportunity, with passion and enthusiasm.
- Provide constructive feedback on team performance to the Location Manager, Area Manager, and People Team when required.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Ted's current season, including license and exclusive product available on the website.
- Stay up-to-date on current product knowledge and be proficient in the 6 C's detail: Called, Colour, Composition, Cost, Care, and Cut.
- Ensure the implementation of merchandising guidelines, replenishment methods, and housekeeping standards to maintain the highest level of representation for Ted.
- Liaise with the Department Specialist to manage product and VM floor moves, enhancing performance.
- Ensure the team demonstrates Greet, Observe, Talk, Assist, Thank (GOTFAT) with enthusiasm and consistency, understanding both online and offline impacts on customer experience and sales.
- Keep the team, customers, and yourself up-to-date on social media activity and engage with Ted's online presence.
- Nurture an effective sales environment through a strong understanding of local market, customer profiles, and shopping behaviors.
- Coach and inspire the team to achieve location performance targets and deliver genuine customer connections.
- Assist with managing controllable elements of the store's profit and loss budgets.
- Capture customer data at PoS where relevant and understand how it informs customer relationship management.
- Build and maintain a strong commercial awareness of competitors and local markets, communicating findings to the management team and Area Manager.
- Analyze relevant tools to convey a high level of commercial understanding, identifying opportunities to positively affect location performance.
- Ensure all store administration, systems, and processes are adhered to within The Global Retail Hub/Operational guidelines.
- Display a competent knowledge and understanding of company business systems such as Teds Vault, AX, and SharePoint.
- Drive and sample all company operational KPIs.
- Manage costs and support the Location Manager in delivering on Profit and Loss expectations.
- Protect the assets of the Business by ensuring the location meets the required Company standard and legal compliance in Health & Safety and maintenance, and Security and Loss Prevention.
