Accounting Manager

At MNP LLP, we are seeking a highly skilled Accountancy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our accounting and advisory services, you will play a crucial role in providing business strategies and solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Client-Facing Engagement Teams: Oversee client-facing engagement teams to complete audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, and financial/accounting transactions.
- Deliver Industry Expertise: Provide industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations, and high-quality deliverables.
- Client Relationship Management: Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value, ensuring clients' needs are met and relationships and accounts grow and develop.
- Engagement Planning and Scheduling: Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
- Quality Control and Specialized Knowledge: Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries, and reports.
- Business Development and Networking: Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
- Flexibility and Travel: Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
- Relevant Public Accounting Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience.
- Business and Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
- Leadership and Relationship Building Skills: Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
- Technical Skills: Experience working with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, TaxCycle (or similar software such as TaxPrep or Profile); working knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Xero would be an asset but not required.
