Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team in the North West. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in developing and promoting our fostering services, working closely with foster parents, children, and other stakeholders to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children and young people in foster care.
  • Monitor the continued suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, and learning environment for children/young people.
  • Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, ensuring they fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved, and standards expected.
  • Work in partnership with foster parents, children, and other stakeholders to identify needs and provide support, including respite, activities, therapy, and holidays.
  • Ensure each child and foster parent are fully compliant with key documentation and attend meetings as required.
  • Promote participation of children/young people in the development of the agency and access to resources and opportunities in their local community.
Requirements
  • Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, and confidence in transporting children and young people in stressful/difficult situations.
  • Full driving license.
