Commodities Inspector

Bureau Veritas is a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services. As a Commodities Inspector with our Metals and Minerals Inspection Team in the Northeast Region of the USA, you will play a vital role in ensuring equal opportunity in employment for all individuals.

This position is responsible for carrying out and/or supervising the inspection, weighing, and sampling of various commodities to pre-defined standards and scope of works, using the appropriate methods advised by administration and Management.

You will be reporting directly to the Northeast Regional Manager and Precious Metals Operations Manager, given the tools to excel in this role.

• Travel to other parts of the country may be required; however, you will be based in this main region.
• Carry out and/or supervise the inspection, weighing, and sampling of various commodities as directed by the Operations Manager and Northeast Regional Manager.
• Represent Bureau Veritas and the client in a professional manner.
• Adhere to and conform to internal safety, ethical, and internet and data security practices.
• Communicate business intelligence for sales opportunities to the Operations Manager and Business Development Manager as applicable.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Demonstrate technical ability in sampling, measurement, and inspection of commodities.
