We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Applications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Campus, IT & Library Applications team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the secure and efficient operation of our digital applications.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing applications on various platforms, including Linux, Windows, and SaaS, as well as a good understanding of IT service management principles and best practices. Certification in ITIL, such as ITIL Foundation, is desirable.
In this role, you will work closely with university stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues from other IT Services teams to monitor, analyze, and report on application performance. You will also be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement to enhance service delivery within the team and wider IT Services.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A broad technical knowledge and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time are essential for success in this role.
You will work in the Campus, IT & Library Applications team within the IT Services Digital Applications group, which owns and manages the lifecycle of their applications and services. This includes commissioning and implementation, upgrades, maintenance, continuous improvement activities, to eventual retirement and decommissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Manage applications on various platforms, including Linux, Windows, and SaaS
- Monitor, analyze, and report on application performance
- Work closely with university stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues from other IT Services teams
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement to enhance service delivery
- Experience in managing applications on various platforms
- Good understanding of IT service management principles and best practices
- Certification in ITIL, such as ITIL Foundation (desirable)
- Broad technical knowledge and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
The salary for this position is approximately £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a pension scheme, and flexible working arrangements.
