Transportation and Supply Chain Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our team in a hybrid/remote working managerial role. As a key member of our delivery network team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of health and safety standards are met across the UK.
In this role, you will work closely with senior management to drive business improvement and transformational change. You will also be responsible for managing the operations team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high levels of colleague engagement.
This is a flexible role that offers a great work-life balance, allowing you to choose between working from home or an office-based location. All necessary equipment will be provided to support remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the operations team to deliver high engagement of Health and Safety through Safety Conversations.
- Ensure minimum targets in behavioral safety observations are achieved.
- Adhere to GXO and B&Q site/business policies and procedures.
- Investigate and escalate any PG9 offences.
- Manage drivers' infringements through the DCRS policy.
- Drive best practice for driver performance through pro-active management and colleague engagement.
- Deliver service levels for the site, challenging and continually improving results in line with contractual KPI/SLA's.
- Maintain Microlise compliance for core fleet.
- Accountable for all housekeeping, end-to-end systemic adherence.
- Manage and monitor colleague working hours through Telematics and T&A.
- Control temporary labor usage weekly.
- Process specials systemically.
- Work closely with HR team to manage all site colleagues.
- Hold regular performance reviews with direct reports.
- Manage shift holiday allocation.
- Achieve 100% recruitment against all budgeted headcount.
- Process new colleagues according to company procedure.
- Complete all area disciplinary procedures.
- Assist in delivering strategy for colleague engagement.
Requirements:
- CPC holder.
- Understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management.
- Confidence in utilizing Microsoft Office tools.
- Full UK driving license.
- Evidence of operational management experience.
- Change management experience.
- Communication skills.
- Taking responsibility and demonstrating commitment.
- Evidence of respect and integrity.
- Analytical skills.
- Decision making.
