At Ligna Consultancy Ltd, we are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Senior Ecologist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Director to shape and build our ecology department and resources.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to define how the department operates, while delivering ecological assessments and services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Director to shape the structure and operations of the ecology department.
  • Conduct ecological site surveys and assessments around East Anglia, in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Undertake bat emergence surveys and GCN DNA surveys.
  • Undertake BNG assessments.
  • Lead and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in ecology or environmental consulting.
  • Ability to undertake bat emergence surveys.
  • Experience with GCN surveys.
  • Strong knowledge of UK environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in ecological surveying and data analysis, including the use of GIS software.
