London, Greater London, United Kingdom Network Recruitment Solutions Full time

The role of an Observation Specialist in our Children's Contact Services team is to provide a safe and supportive environment for parents and children to interact. As part of this role, you will observe these interactions and accurately record progress, ensuring the well-being and best interests of the child are always prioritized.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families, ideally in an observational or supportive capacity. You will be responsible for compiling factual observation-based reports, which will be used to inform decisions regarding the child's care.

  • You will not engage in lengthy conversations with adults having contact with the child.
  • If necessary, you may offer advice to the adult to ensure the child's needs are met.
  • In exceptional circumstances, you may need to take temporary custody of the child while another adult is present in the room.
  • You will accurately document all contact sessions and provide evidence in court as required.
  • You may be required to attend meetings related to the child, such as Looked After Children Reviews or Child Protection Conferences.
  • All reports must be completed within 48 hours of contact taking place and submitted to the Centre Manager via email.
  • It is essential that you familiarize yourself with the family's referral prior to commencement and verify the correct spellings of names and dates of birth for accurate reporting.
  • In the event of a child making a disclosure, you must report this immediately to the Centre Manager, who will notify relevant authorities to ensure the child's welfare is protected.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and data protection at all times is crucial, with all discussions accurately recorded.
  • You will participate in regular supervision sessions as requested by the Centre Manager.
  • Familiarization with our policies and procedures is mandatory.

This is a part-time, temporary role available Monday to Friday. A full UK driving license and car ownership are essential requirements.
