Veetee Group is a leading ambient foods and rice company, supplying major retailers, wholesalers, and food manufacturing businesses. Our operations span two factories and three warehouses in Rochester, Kent, one manufacturing site in India, and a Sales & Distribution team in the USA.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to maintain and implement food safety, legality, and quality standards for our Veetee Foods operations. This role will also oversee the Quality Assurance Department and New Product Development (NPD) at Veetee Foods.
Key Responsibilities- Implement defined systems and procedures for accurate assessment, monitoring, and documentation of quality.
- Maintain and improve the site Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure it remains robust and fit for purpose.
- Work with the Technical Manager to ensure all products, existing and new, are fully risk-assessed as part of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) process.
- Ensure all QA daily tasks are completed, and non-conformances are addressed and resolved.
- Monitor and investigate customer complaints, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Publish monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) dashboard to Senior Management, including critical concerns and continuous monitoring trends.
- Manage the quality of third-party supplied products.
- Work with production Shift Supervisors to deal with daily factory issues.
- Maintain and improve all remaining aspects of the Quality Management System.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the food industry is essential.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety legislation and understanding and application of labeling requirements.
- Previous experience with technical specification management and use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as SAP or Axapta or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience in handling customer complaints, NPD processes, and long shelf-life (ambient) products is required.
- Understanding of food microbiology.
- A degree-level qualification in food science or a related discipline.
- HACCP qualification and Food Hygiene and/or Advanced Food Hygiene Training.
