Support Worker for the Deaf Community in North Somerset

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in North Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with the Deaf community and have a strong desire to make a positive impact.
Job SummaryThis permanent 18.5-hour role involves working alongside Deaf/Deafblind people in North Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to enable individuals to achieve their goals and live independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing person-centred support to Deaf/Deafblind individuals, promoting independence and empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Collaborating with health and social care professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services and promote positive outcomes.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with local voluntary sector agencies and health partners to expand opportunities for the Deaf community.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports, ensuring effective communication and coordination across teams.
- Contributing to the development of best practice and sharing knowledge within the team to enhance skills and expertise.
Requirements:
- Possess a strong understanding of Deaf awareness and culture, with a willingness to learn and develop skills further.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Hold a valid driving license and reliable transportation or be willing to arrange alternative suitable travel arrangements.
- Meet the requirements for an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
