Job Title: Humanities Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join our team at Tyldesley School, a specialist SEMH school that provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring the department and school achieve their aims. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible, and determined individual who shares our values and is committed to developing your career in this specialist area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Assess and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental and school-wide initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Person Specification:
  • Teaching qualification and subject specialism in Humanities.
  • Experience of working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to empathise and support the development of learning.
  • Robust understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent delivery and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team.
  • Good coordination and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable track record of student achievement.
  • Innovative, fast thinking, and versatile.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Good general level of ICT skills, including Microsoft Office.
