Job Description

A Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering mechanical, electrical, civil, control, and instrumentation projects valued at up to £5 million annually. The role involves working closely with Thames Water operations, including Process Improvement Engineers and our contractor supply chain, to scope, specify, and cost-quality solutions that are fit for purpose and value for money.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to think quickly, decisively, challenge, and develop interim reactive solutions for maintenance issues that must be resolved promptly. They will also be responsible for complying with Health and Safety requirements, ensuring that all projects built and designed comply with the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).

Key responsibilities include overseeing the commissioning and handover of the project to the operational client, ensuring appropriate training has been completed, and completion documents, including test certificates and constructed drawings, are available and handed over.

We require a qualified engineer with an HNC/HND or degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience in the Mechanical and Electrical industry. The successful candidate will enjoy being hands-on and proactive on-site to ensure it runs at required capacity levels. They will be technically and commercially astute, with a proven engineering background, and able to investigate, scope, and specify engineering solutions for plant modernisation and refurbishment.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary between £41,000 - £55,000 per annum, car allowance of £4,500 per annum, and 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service.
