Job Description

Job Title: Chief Electrical Design Engineer

Job Type: Contract

Location: Remote (2 days per fortnight on site)

Hourly Rate: £79.17 (Inside IR35)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at JAM Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design and development of electrical power systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring that electrical power systems are designed and developed in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  2. Design and Development: Develop and maintain electrical power system designs, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
  3. Project Management: Manage and coordinate electrical power system projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
  5. Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and system documentation.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all electrical power system designs and developments meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  1. Technical Expertise: Proven experience in electrical power system design and development, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
  2. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and technical expertise to guide and support the engineering team.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  5. Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to electrical power systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power system design and development.
  3. Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as IEEE or IET.
