Job Title: Project Engineer - EC&I

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer - EC&I to join our team at Orion Group. As a Project Engineer - EC&I, you will be responsible for providing fit for purpose engineering solutions for projects or engineering support on more complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project.
  2. Contribute to production of Project Execution Plan including design, safety case and commissioning strategies.
  3. Support project optioneering process.
  4. Develop concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects.
  5. Produce and/or approve project technical specifications.
  6. Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instructions/method statements/risk assessments.
  7. Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.
  8. Manage hand over to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions and training have been supplied as required.
  9. Liaise and consult with system engineers and other stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  10. Maintain site configuration control throughout project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in a practising disciplined Engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I) on industrial plant.
  2. Experience of nuclear and/or conventional project engineering.
  3. Understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards.
  4. Experience of working in highly regulated industry - nuclear preferred.

Desirable:

  1. Working knowledge of the Safety Rules and working knowledge of risk assessment methodology.
  2. Understanding of relevant Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements.
  3. Contract Management experience.
  4. Project delivery experience.
