Senior Accountant - Audit and Accounts

We are delighted to be working with a leading independent firm in Redhill who are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This forward-thinking firm offers a fantastic platform for development, seeking an ambitious and experienced individual to undertake a varied role comprising a mixture of audit, accounts, and tax work.

As a Senior Accountant, you'll be responsible for leading audit assignments from planning to completion, preparing and reviewing year-end financial statements, and corporate tax returns. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of clients including group structured businesses and stand-alone limited companies, as well as supervising and assisting junior team members.

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACCA Qualified, or at the latter stages of their studies, with excellent experience of working in a varied general practice position. You'll be rewarded with a highly competitive salary and benefits package, as well as real scope and opportunities for further progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion for a variety of clients across different sectors.
  2. Preparing financial statements and management accounts.
  3. Reviewing and finalizing accounts prepared by junior staff.
  4. Conducting risk assessments and ensuring audit plans are designed to address identified risks.
  5. Providing technical advice and guidance on accounting and audit matters.
  6. Ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
  7. Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  8. Supporting and mentoring junior team members, including on-the-job training and performance reviews.
  9. Reporting directly to Partners and Managers on audit progress and findings.
Requirements:
  1. ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in audit and accounting within a practice environment.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
  4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  5. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
