Job Title: Embedded Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Lead Software Engineer to join our Power Software business at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Software team, you will be responsible for developing safety-critical software for an aircraft electrical power distribution system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Software Requirements: Capture, understand, and document software requirements to ensure high-quality software development.
  2. Software Architecture: Create, update, and maintain software architecture and designs for implementation in various languages such as C, Ada, and Assembler.
  3. Software Verification: Understand and implement software verification strategies, and create, update, and perform software tests.
  4. Technical Reviews: Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
  5. Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of technical data is generated for assigned projects and tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  6. Development Standards: Work to rigorous development standards.
  7. Software Engineering Strategy: Contribute to the business's software engineering strategy.

Requirements:

  1. Software Design Lifecycle: Hands-on experience of software design lifecycle within aerospace, automotive, or similar embedded software development environment.
  2. Real-Time Embedded Software: Experience of designing and implementing real-time embedded software, and subsequent verification.
  3. Electrical Power Distribution: A general understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
  4. Agile and Kanban: Awareness of Agile and Kanban techniques.
