Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our neuro-oncology research team at Plymouth University. The successful candidate will assist in conducting innovative research projects, focusing on NF2-null nervous system tumours.

The Parkinson lab is a dynamic and collaborative environment that provides access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a confocal microscopy suite and biological services unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments using various techniques
  • Analyse data from single-cell RNA-sequencing and murine models
  • Develop and execute wet-lab techniques for patient-derived xenograft drug screening and validation

Requirements:

  • PhD (or near completion) in neuro-oncology, immunology, or a closely related subject
  • Competence in multiple laboratory techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of cancer cell biology and tumour-associated immune cells

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary package (£38,772 - £48,045 per annum), a generous pension scheme, and holiday entitlement. Staff appointed within the Faculty of Health may also be eligible to join the NHS pension scheme.
