Function / Area: Reinsurance

Reports To: Reinsurance Operations Manager

Position Summary

To provide operational support to the CNA / Hardy Ceded Reinsurance function in ensuring post-placement activities are conducted promptly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate records of reinsurance contracts, including policy details and premium payments.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, reserving, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of reinsurance processes.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to recoverable claims, run-off, and legacy accounts.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including brokers and reinsurers, to secure settlements and recoveries.
  • Monitor and manage aged debt, ensuring timely payments and minimizing financial risks.
  • Support the development and implementation of new systems and processes, as required.
  • Represent the department in internal and external meetings, providing expert knowledge and guidance.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage proportional reinsurance contract processes, including policy rules, entries, and statements.
  • Manage excess of loss reinsurance contract processes, including policy entry, claims collections, and premium allocations.
  • Calculate and submit periodic returns for national reinsurance pools.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Lloyd's and London market.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a ceded reinsurance role, preferably with a Lloyd's Syndicate or Company market.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to enhance processes.
  • Knowledge of policy administration systems, such as Subscribe, Senator, and/or XLRAS, is advantageous.
