Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Band 5 Neonatal/Paediatric Staff Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) team at Borders General Hospital. Our unit provides patient-centred care to premature and sick newborns and their families, with an 8-bedded area consisting of 2 High Dependency and 6 Nursery cots.

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to babies within the SCBU and support those on transitional care in the maternity ward. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in neonatal care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver high-quality nursing care to newborns and their families.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans.
  • To maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the NMC as a Band 5 Nurse.
  • Experience in paediatric and/or neonatal care.
