Cyber Threat Intelligence Researcher

Orpheus Cyber is a leading specialist cyber threat intelligence company, providing highly tailored threat intelligence products and services to clients worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our analysis team as a Research Intern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support our team in gathering information on cyber threats and turning it into actionable intelligence.
- Develop an understanding of cyber threat intelligence and the actors within the cyber threat landscape.
- Provide regular research and analysis in support of our day-to-day operations, bespoke client work, and intelligence-led project engagements.
- Conduct targeted research on specific topics for our weekly and monthly reporting and tailored threat assessments.
- Primary research on the deep and dark web to identify and cultivate new sources.
Requirements:
- Looking to start or develop a career in the intelligence or cyber security field.
- Understanding of the principles of cyber security, cyber threat, and cyber risk.
- Demonstrate an interest in current cyber security issues and developments.
- Academic or professional experience in primary intelligence research and analysis related to political, security or technology issues.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, and a keenness to develop these further.
- Ability to use initiative and understanding to manage own research efforts.
- Strong communication skills.
- Additional languages are desirable where specifically relevant to areas of heightened cyber threat.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python is viewed as an advantage, as is a deeper understanding of the principles of computer science and cyber security.
- Competent with the Microsoft Office suite and enthusiastic regarding new technologies.
