Job Title: Senior Planning Specialist

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Specialist to join our team at OXBO. As a key member of our in-house planning team, you will play a crucial role in progressing the development of our solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the UK.

You will be responsible for supporting our UK development team with all current and future planning processes, working closely with them to identify suitable development opportunities around connection points. Additionally, you will manage planning consultants and other contractors appointed by the company to assist in the planning process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the UK development team with all current and future planning processes.
  • Working closely with the team on identifying suitable development opportunities around connection opportunities.
  • Managing planning consultants and other contractors appointed by the company to assist in the planning process.
  • Reviewing team-originated land opportunities from a planning viewpoint, in cooperation with the team and their input regarding aspects of long-term requirements around construction, operation, and asset management.
  • Managing key stakeholders through the planning process and into the site construction and operational phase.
  • Attend industry and discipline events, webinars, and shows.

Requirements:

  • Detailed understanding of the UK planning system.
  • Knowledge and experience of the TCPA application process.
  • Prior experience of working in utility-scale solar and/or BESS.
  • Experience of project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Chartered status and Full Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or other relevant professional body (or working towards membership).
  • Excellent written, communication, and organisational skills.
