About the Role:
Kadtech Ltd is seeking a skilled Cable Repair Technician to join our team. As a Cable Repair Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out and maintaining a consistent throughput of cable repairs on both power and data cables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and safely fault find issues on a range of electrical and data cables, including single and three phase cabling, DMX and Ethercon.
- Undertake electrical and mechanical repairs on a variety of cabling in a safe and professional manner.
- Terminate cut down cables to reinstate into rental stock.
- Wire, solder, cable strip, assemble, and terminate a range of connections for power cables and data cables.
- Create wiring looms.
- Research parts and equipment required to effect repairs on cabling you have assessed.
- Prepare equipment to be sent to external suppliers for repair.
- Broadly test completed repairs (including PAT) before managing the return to stock.
- Work with the Repairs Inventory Technician to ensure stock repair supplies are maintained at appropriate levels.
- Document measures taken to complete repairs and provide advice to repairs administrators if pricing is not accurate in relation to work undertaken.
Requirements:
- Prior cable/electrical repairs experience, including 3 phase.
- IT literacy with a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to confidently communicate with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
- Capacity to build strong working relationships with colleagues.
- Self-motivation and organization with the ability to plan workload and keep track of multiple jobs.
