Senior Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Steel Connexions Ltd., a specialist recruitment company dedicated to the structural steelwork industry and associated trades.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in Structural Steel estimating, with a strong background in preparing and producing tenders for large scale, multi-storey projects. Excellent numerical, analytical, communication, and organisational skills are essential, along with strong commercial acumen and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and produce accurate, detailed, and timely tenders for Structural Steel and Cladding construction projects.
  2. Collaborate with estimating management, production management, site management, and company directors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  3. Carry out material take-offs, estimating labour, materials, and equipment costs, including MEWPs and Crane costs.
  4. Liaise internally and externally to ensure accurate pricing and project delivery.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years estimating experience in the Structural Steel industry.
  3. High level of familiarity with the UK Steel industry.
  4. Excellent leadership capabilities and strong commercial acumen.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
