The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking a highly skilled Digital Archivist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the preservation and conservation of digital heritage materials.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with experience in digital archiving, cataloguing, and metadata management. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and managing the digital archive, ensuring long-term protection and preservation of digital documents, photographs, and other records.
  • Cataloguing and indexing digital records, including documents, images, and audio-visual materials.
  • Populating and updating the Chivas Brothers Archive website and microsites using digital records to prepare historical timelines as required for brands, distilleries, and facilities.
  • Working with departments from across the business to respond to requests to create superior heritage creative content for impactful innovation and drive competitive advantage.

What You Need:

  • A graduate in archival science, history, library science, or archives and record management.
  • Experience in digital archiving (e.g., ADLIB/CALM/AXIELL).
  • Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels within the business.
  • Able to demonstrate analytical abilities: assimilates data quickly and is able to carry out appropriate analysis.

This is a full-time position based in the UK, offering a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you are passionate about preserving digital heritage and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
