As a Financial Director with Michael Page (UK), you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of a leading construction company. Our client is known for delivering high-quality projects across residential and commercial sectors.

About the Role

This interim Financial Controller position offers a competitive daily rate and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team. The successful applicant will have proven experience in the construction industry, holding an ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent qualification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls are in place.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support strategic decision-making.
  • Managing cash flow, working capital, and monitoring financial performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and HMRC.
  • Managing and mentoring a small finance team, providing guidance and development.
Requirements
  • A minimum salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Proven experience as an interim Financial Controller in the construction or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax, and audit processes.
  • Experience with project-based accounting and cost control in the construction sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to interact with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant financial software (experience with construction-specific systems is a plus).
