Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 HGV driver to join our team at Driver Hire. As a Class 2 HGV driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to various locations across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a Class 2 vehicle to complete deliveries to builders merchants, wholesalers, furniture manufacturers, and other clients.
  • Operate in a variety of environments, including urban and rural areas.
  • Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and carrying goods.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 2 driving license.
  • Valid CPC Card and Digi Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on your driving license (for insurance purposes).
  • A friendly, professional manner and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Working Conditions

As a Class 2 HGV driver, you can expect to work a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional overtime. You will be required to work in a variety of weather conditions and may be required to work at heights.

The pay rate for this position is £13.30 per hour for PAYE BASIC, with the option to earn up to £14.90 per hour for PAYE Advanced. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the standard rate.

The typical shift duration is 9 hours, with a 30-minute break. You can expect to earn between £600 and £700 per week, depending on your working hours.
