Bridge Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a Bridge Maintenance Specialist to join our Bridges and Structures team in Kendal, Westmorland and Furness Council. The role involves inspecting approximately 1800 highway structures, monitoring their condition, and recording defects accurately.
The ideal candidate should have experience with bridge inspections and be familiar with the County Surveyors Society Bridge Inspections Manuals on Bridge Condition Indicators Volumes 1 and 2. This knowledge will enable them to identify defects and provide technical advice to colleagues.
Additionally, the successful candidate will work closely with contractors to improve, maintain, and repair structures. Knowledge of construction methods and materials is advantageous, as is the ability to record defects clearly and consistently.
