Strategic Procurement Consultant Role in Glasgow

A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Procurement Professional to join a leading global consultancy organisation in their specialist procurement division, based in Glasgow.

This is a chance to work alongside a highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services, across various sectors such as defence, utilities, and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have a strong background across the procurement lifecycle, including strategy development and tender preparation, with experience in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure (such as roads, rail) sectors being ideal.

In this role, you will deliver services to public and private sector clients, focusing on central and local government, defence, infrastructure, power, and utilities. Flexible remote working is supported, with regular weekly visits to the office for specific meetings and tasks.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To provide specialist procurement strategy advice to Public and Private sector clients.
  • To manage and collaborate with a team on end-to-end procurement services for major projects or programmes.
  • Support the development of the procurement services.
  • To support the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience of leading and/or supporting projects in a strategic procurement environment.
  • Preferably possess experience working in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure (roads, rail etc) sectors.
  • Experience of leading and/or supporting in supplier engagement activities, to include market engagement through to contract award.
  • Cross sector experience with Public/Utilities Contract Regulations or equivalent.
  • Ability to develop procurement strategy within a project or programme context.
  • Understanding of commercial principles and modelling.

The company offers a competitive basic salary up to £75,000, along with other benefits such as car allowance, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme with employer matching contributions up to 5%, medical insurance, life insurance, personal accident cover, and more.
