We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Planner to join our team at the FAAM Airborne Laboratory. As a key member of the Mid-Life Upgrade Programme, you will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of ongoing and emergent projects to meet the Programme's objectives.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the MLU Director, Project Manager, activity leads, and external stakeholders to plan, schedule, implement, and review tasks. You will need to be a great problem-solver, with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to enable you to interact, engage, and negotiate with technical and operational stakeholders.
About the FAAM Airborne Laboratory:
The FAAM Airborne Laboratory is a unique, highly modified 4-engine jet aircraft adapted to carry a range of unique science instruments, dedicated to supporting the UK atmospheric science community and users of atmospheric science data. The Facility is managed by a team of scientists, engineers, flight technicians, and project managers forming a complete package of support for the scientific community.
About the Mid-Life Upgrade Programme:
The exciting Mid-Life Upgrade Programme aims to deliver a range of upgrades and enhancements to the aircraft, its measurement capabilities, and its research impact, extending its useful life to 2040. This will meet the ongoing requirements for UK researchers, the Met Office, UK government bodies, commercial organizations, and international research bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and delivery of ongoing and emergent projects to meet the Programme's objectives.
- Work closely with the MLU Director, Project Manager, activity leads, and external stakeholders to plan, schedule, implement, and review tasks.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, resource allocation plans, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with technical and operational stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed.

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
